After a morning on the market, we headed for Wat Arun, also on the Chao Phraya. This particular Wat features multiple prang, or spires.
It is possible to climb part of the way up the central spire, if one is willing to brave the steep steps.
The rest of the climb is off limits to the general public...
Straight across from Wat Arun is the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Keaw. We never got around to visiting, but the view from here was satisfying enough.
Next up: Wat Pho. Here we have a giant reclining Buddha...just 43 meters long!
An interesting shrubbery...
Finally, a meal in Chinatown!! We looked a long time to find food here, after passing what must have been a hundred gold shops on Yaowarat road.
And what Bangkok trip would not be complete without an evening walk on Khao San road? Tourist crowds amass here every night to enjoy lights, music, and drunken debauchery.
